Helen Ann Brown

Helen Ann Brown was born September 15, 1960, to Joe and Helen Fekete Nyeki.  She married Michael Brown and for 23 years she and Michael had the Exotic Pet Store in downtown Hammond.  She was a graduate of Albany High School, a U.S. Navy veteran and was employed by First Bank in Hammond.  Helen Ann will be missed by her family, friends, and co-workers.  

She leaves behind her husband, Michael; sister, Suzan Monic (Louis); brothers, Laramie Nyeki (Crystal), and Mark Nyeki; special friend, Christine Thornhill; numerous nieces and nephews; and her fur babies who always gave her love and comfort.  

Helen Ann is preceded in death by Joe and Helen Fekete Nyeki; and brother, Joe Lee Nyeki.  

Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Friday, April 15, 2022, from 10:00 am until religious services at 1:00 p.m.  She will be laid to rest at the Albany Hungarian Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Albany Hungarian Church Building Fund.  Pallbearers will be Laramie Nyeki, Mark Nyeki, David Aranyosi, Frank Fekete, Harold Hano, Joseph Erdey and Jeremy Clark.  Honorary pallbearer is Nicholas Martin.
