Heather Nicole Thane

Heather Nicole Thane, of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023, at the age of 40. Heather was born on September 10, 1982, in Bryan, Texas, to parents Jo Ann and Richard Thane. After graduating high school, she worked hard on a degree in nursing because she wanted to be able to help others. Shortly after, she had her son Andrew Jaxon Dunn in 2013, who was the light of her life, with Michael Dunn. She had an uncanny ability to make anyone laugh, and she lit up every room she entered.

Heather was a loving mother, a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She always lent a shoulder to cry on, and had the gift to make friends with anyone. The hole that left by her absence is impossible to fill. 

Heather was preceded in death by her mother Jo Ann DiLeo, brother Clinton Thane, and grandparents Mary Lou and Marvin Thane, as well as grandparents Nona and Floyd Hutton. She is survived by her son Andrew Dunn, father Richard Thane and wife Gabriella, step-dad David DiLeo, sisters Kandis Thane, Hannah Soule, Alisa Thane, Natalie Thane, and Sarah DiLeo, and brother Adam Thane. She also leaves behind her nephews Payton Jett and Brackston Boudreaux, niece Sofia Boudreaux, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, and a service celebrating Heather's life beginning at 6:00 pm.
