Harry Samuel Perrin, Jr., affectionately known to many as “Sammy”, age 64, a native of Ponchatoula and 26 year resident of Reserve, passed away on Sunday, May 10th 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Sammy was born in Independence, Louisiana to his parents the late Harry Samuel Perrin, Sr. and Frances Jones Perrin on June 6th, 1955. He would later go on to fall in love and marry Gina R. Palermo on August 17th, 1995. They resided in Reserve, Louisiana where they raised five children. He completely devoted himself to his family as a loving father while maintaining a career as a superintendent and project coordinator in refineries across the South and overseas. Sammy’s love and support for his family and attending sporting events did not go unnoticed. Much of his leisure time was spent supporting his children at the local ballpark and gymnasium, or simply spending the weekend with his family attending horse races.

Sammy is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Gina Rose Perrin. His five children: Jennifer Leigh Perrin (Ronnie) of Tickfaw; Ryan Perrin (Angie) of Springfield; Trey Perrin-Pellerin (Matthew) of Youngsville; Brandi Perrin Leblanc (Jesse) of Laplace; and Toni Lynn Perrin. Four grandchildren: Hailey Penton; Jayden Chopin; Kinsley Perrin; and Emma Miller. He is also survived by his three sisters and four brothers: Tracy Perrin (Tommy), Sharon Perrin, Donna Perrin, all of Ponchatoula, Dennis Perrin (Gretchen) of Georgia, Stephen Perrin Sr. of Florida, Daryl Perrin and Mark Perrin (Tosha) of Ponchatoula. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Frances Perrin, Sr.; his in-laws Carlo and Constance Nezat Palermo; and his siblings Denise and Mike Perrin.

Services will be held privately. Family and friends are encouraged to send condolences and share memories online.

Sammy will be laid to rest at Mitchell Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Sammy’s family would like to give a special thanks to Guardian Angel Hospice and Dr. Ryan Griffin for outstanding and extensive care provided during this difficult time.
