Harold Freeman Amerson

Harold Freeman Amerson, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the age of 79 at Richard Murphy Hospice House. He was born Wednesday, September 10, 1941 in Reform, Mississippi.

Harold honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He held a long career with Shell Oil Company, retiring after 35 years. Harold was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church.

Harold is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anna Calamia Amerson; son & daughter-in-law, Roy Amerson and Shari Robertson Amerson; daughter & son-in-law, Becky Amerson-Wall and Jay Wall; daughter & son-in-law, Amy Amerson Burchfield and Aaron Burchfield; grandchildren, Ryan, Allie and Grant Amerson, Camille Burchfield, and Lauren Wall; brother, Ted Amerson (Patty); and sister, Debbie Shaffer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Amerson and Effie Louise Burcham Amerson.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 8:00am until 10:30am.

A Funeral Service will follow at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church on Saturday at 11:00am with Fr. Michael Galea officiating.

Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hammond, Louisiana.
