Harold Cleon Banks

Harold Cleon Banks, a resident of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at his home while being surrounded by family. He was born on November 10, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was 72 years of age.

In his early years, he was a construction worker. Then he became a police officer and worked his way up and became a Captain at Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office. Later, he owned and operated his own businesses, Banks Refrigeration and Country Oaks Apartments. He was very intelligent and was always willing to offer advice. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to garden, drive his tractor, and go camping. He enjoyed visiting with family, especially his grandchildren, and could drink coffee all day long. Rarely did you ever see him without his cowboy hat or cap on. For 11 years, he had a bulldog, named Kertrina, who was his best friend. In his later years, he spent much of his time connecting with family and friends on Facebook. He was known for liking and commenting on every post and picture that he saw. His presence will surely be missed. Before he passed away, he assured his family that he was saved younger in life and looked forward to going home to be with Jesus.

Harold is survived by his two daughters, Angela Baudean and her husband, Bruce, and Haley Taylor and her husband, Travis; one brother, Bruce Fendlason and his wife, Marie; four grandchildren, Brent, Kylie, and Brock Baudean, and Travis Taylor II; former wife, Frances Banks; former wife, Edna Jones; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold is preceded in death by his father, Sam Banks, Jr.; his mother, Estelle Fendlason; and his step-father, Marvin "Red" Fendlason.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisianaa 70401, on Friday, July 16, 2021 beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM. Services will be conducted by Elder Travis Taylor.
