Harley “Leo” Perry was born June 16, 1960, in Amite, LA, to the late Austin and Edith Whiddon Perry. He passed away, December 22, 2024, in Amite at The Lodge at Tangi Pines. Leo was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He loved his grandchildren and they were his life. He loved his kids and family and pushed them to do their best. Leo enjoyed fox hunting, playing guitar and piano, talking, and he never met a stranger. He was the founder of Hoppin-Harley’s Travel Center in Tickfaw and Natalbany. He is survived by his son, Clinton Nicholas Perry; daughter, Meghan Elizabeth Perry; mother of his children, Carol Huszar Perry; sister, Nelda Faye Perry; brother, Jesse Perry (Delores); grandchildren, Brody Scott Hanks, his heart and soul, Avery Kate Hughes, his “girl baby”, and Landon Kole Hughes, who looked like him; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leo is preceded in death by his brother, Clinton Daniel Perry, maternal grandparents, Harley and Lourena Whiddon, and paternal grandparents, Clinton and Allie Perry. Special thanks to all the staff at The Lodge at Tangi Pines, especially to “T”. Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2024, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 30997 Horseshoe Rd, Independence, LA from 11:00 a.m. until religious services at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Gene Hoyt. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
