Gwendolyn Marie Hoover

Gwendolyn Marie Hoover, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 18, 2024, doing what she loved, with the one she loved, Stephen Jenkins. She was born on Saturday, February 16, 1957, in Port Sulphur, Louisiana to the late Lawrence and Joyce Penn Hoover. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. She was known to be a very talented person who dabbled in diamond art, amateur photography, and posting her beautiful photos of the moon on Facebook. When it was too cold to fish, she was often found delighting children as Mrs. Claus along with Stephen who was Santa Claus. Gwen was a wonderful partner, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her siblings, Doyle Hoover (Lisa) and Cindy Hoover Walters (Steve); partner of over 40 years, Stephen Jenkins; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Rushing, Randi Paige Norman (Kobe Roy), Savannah Walters; bonus nephews, Shawn Walters and Scott Walters; as well as a great-nephew, Zian Ammon Roy.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Lawrence and Joyce Penn Hoover; grandparents, Abraham and Stella Penn, Pearley Jones and Wesley Hoover; and “mother-in-law”, Beverly Pinion.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, 100 W. Magnolia St. Ponchatoula, LA 70454 at 1:00 pm. until services begin at 3:00 pm 

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.

The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Nicholas Salerno and the staff at St. Tammany Parish Hospital Emergency Department in Covington, Louisiana
