Guy Leander Joiner

Guy Leander Joiner, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on Friday, August 30, 1957, in Independence, Louisiana.

Guy was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting. He was a child at heart; you could often find him playing in the dirt with his heavy machinery and spending time with his grandkids. For the last 47 years, Guy got a kick out of picking on his wife and lovingly annoyed her, which she will sorely miss. He was a loving husband, father, doting grandfather, and friend to all who knew him, and the memories that have been made will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Laura Joiner; daughters, Dana Joiner and Destinee Joiner-Hooper (Jerry); grandbabies, Trey, Dustin, Megan, Madelynn, and Oaklynn; Texas sons, Keith Mikeska (Kaycee) and their children, Koti, Kole, and Kori and Weston “WeeWee” Lewis (Megan) and their children, Christian, Abel, and Waylon, and his sister, Marcy Bardwell.

Guy was preceded by his maternal grandparents, J.Y. Robertson and Esther Raiford Robertson; paternal grandparents, Eli Joiner and Thelma Shelton Joiner; and father-in-law, Harry Antoine Simoneaux.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Guy at Grace Baptist Church, 16372 LA-1064, Tickfaw, LA 70466, on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 3:00 pm until the service begins at 6:00 pm.
