Ribando, Guy James

Guy was born October 1, 1943 in Tickfaw, LA to the late Joseph Ribando, Sr. and Lena Musacchia Ribando and passed away December 29, 2020 in Hammond, LA.  He was a retired supervisor for Dupont Chemical Company in LaPlace, LA.  Guy was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, and a member of the Knight of Columbus.  He served as Grand Marshal for the Italian Festival in 2011.  Guy was active in community affairs serving on the City Council for the City of Tickfaw.  

He enjoyed doing woodwork with his grandson Shane and adored him and his great grandchildren.  

Guy is survived by his wife, Betty Smith Ribando; children, Kimberly Ribando Aymond and husband Paul, and Stacy Ribando; (Kellie),  step children, Alyssa Whittington and husband Todd, and Allyson Sliker and husband Michael; siblings, Jimmy Ribando and wife Jean, Joe Ribando and wife Vivian, Johnny Ribando, and Jomarie Alfonso and husband Frank; grandson, Shane Foto and wife Katelyn; great grandchildren, Kynlee and Baylor Foto; and step grandchildren, Carlie, Morgan, Brock, Lucas, Amber, and Leah.   He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Guy is preceded in death by his brothers, Russell Ribando and Anthony Ribando and wife Marie.  

Visitation with social distancing and mask requirements will be Monday, January 4, 2021, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Blvd, Hammond, LA from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Because of the pandemic and at the family’s request, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church.  A public graveside service will be he held at noon, at Our Lady of Pompeii Cemetery, Tickfaw, LA.  

Pallbearers will be Maurice McCall, Shane Foto, Paul Aymond, Brock Whittington, Earl Smith, and Louis Tallo.  Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Ribando, III, Wayne Jarreau, and Lucas Timman.

Face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home. Thank you for your cooperation.
