Gorgi Nickens Wainwright

Gorgi Nickens Wainwright, of Pumpkin Center, Louisiana, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at North Oaks Medical Center at the age of 63. She was born on October 22, 1954 in Hammond, Louisiana the daughter of the late Carter and Doris Nickens.

Gorgi is survived by her husband of 35 years, Gerald Wainwright; children, Terry Wainwright (Tina), Jeff Wainwright (Latitia), Danny Wainwright (Lucy), Lorinda Wainwright, Scott Wainwright (Sissy), Michael Ezell (Tonya), and Megan Dantagnan; grandchildren, Trent (Carli), Tristan, Chase (Nicole), Dexter (Erika), Wyatt, Daniel (Heather), Devin, Jada, Abby, Shelby, Trevor, Brittany, Katie (Cody), Ty, Taylor, Emily, Avis, Damian, and Cadyn; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Rhonda Lobell, Melanie King (Pat), Carlene Gleason (Chris), and Brandon Nickens (BB); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Gorgi was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Riley Wainwright; an infant brother; and a brother-in-law, Larry Lobell.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Blvd. Hammond, Louisiana.

Services will be held at the funeral home Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10:00 am, with visitation beginning at 9:00 am.

Interment will follow in Hoffman Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
