Goldie Greig Krafft, 98 years old, a native of Lafayette La. and a resident of Hammond since 1959 passed away peacefully at her residence on June 30, 2018.

A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother who was devoted to her family, church, and community. She received her undergraduate degree from ULL and completed her post graduate work at LSU. She worked in the field of Education and Library Science for many years, retiring from Southeastern La. University in 1981. She was a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association and Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

She is survived by her only son, Monty George Montgomery; grandson Matthew Montgomery (Nicole); granddaughters Alyssa Montgomery, Blaze Prats, Fair Prats Herd (Carlos), and Jada Prats Davis; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by stepson John Mollere (Donna); stepdaughters Susan Mollere Rogers, and Bert Mollere Deffes; son-in-law Jerry Prats; and former daughter-in-law Brooks Boehm Montgomery.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, M. G. Greig and Stella Delacroix Greig; brothers, M. G. Greig, Charles Greig, and Harry Greig; as well as her only daughter, Linda Cogdell Prats. Also preceding her in death are husbands B. H. Cogdell, Thomas W. Montgomery, Loys A. Mollere, and Otto F. Krafft.

Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Montgomery, Alan Greig, Gary Greig, Douglas Greig, Dale Greig, Jerry Greig, Joshua Gaines, and Brandon Helms.

Special thanks to Jada for her devotion to her grandmother, and also to Dollie and Carmen for the attentive care given to Goldie. Much gratitude to Heart of Hospice for their excellent care! Especially Brandy and Brittany.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday July 5, 2018 from 9am until 11am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 11am. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Holy Ghost Catholic Church or Southeastern Louisiana University Foundation.
