Glenn William Chapman, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the age of 72. He was born on December 29, 1950, in Independence, Louisiana, the son of the late Andrew Ernest Chapman and Nora Marie Owens Chapman. Glenn worked for Bell South/AT&T as a lineman for 23 years. He loved listening to Christian music and watching LSU football with his family. Glenn had a passion for singing and sang in school and church choirs and for his own pleasure. Glenn loved to play softball and later coached youth baseball and softball and umpired for youth and adult baseball and softball. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made friends everywhere he went. Glenn was a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 54 years, Paulette Bernard Chapman; children, Tabitha Fontenot (Jamie), Andrea Hoover (Brian), Shane Chapman, and Grace Ann Chapman; grandchildren, Glenna Burnham (Nick), RayLynn Klugh, and Dustin Hoover; great grandson, Luke Burnham; brothers, Ernie Chapman (Hilda), Ronnie Chapman (Kathey), Jerry Chapman, and Martin Chapman (Sharon); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his grandson, Taylor Hoover.
Family and friends will be received at Calvary Christian Center, 47217 Randall Rd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Christian Center on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
