Gijetta "Jetta" Smith passed away at her home on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the age of 59. She was born on Friday, February 10, 1967 in Dallas, Texas, to the late Diane Alley Warren and the late Fred Alley. Jetta was a resident of Maurepas, Louisiana.
Jetta had a strong personality and was never afraid to speak her mind. She could be stubborn, but beneath that strong spirit was a heart that was incredibly giving. And when she loved you, she loved you hard-with her whole heart. Her family and those fortunate enough to be loved by her knew just how deeply she cared.
She had a love for the simple comforts in life. Her dogs were more than pets; they were family. She loved her Dr. Pepper, her comfortable clothes, and being surrounded by the people and things that made her happy. These little things, along with her strong spirit and big heart, are what made her so uniquely herself.
She will be remembered not only for the life she lived, but for the love she gave so freely to her husband, her son, her grandchildren, and everyone she held close. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will be deeply missed every day.
Jetta is survived by husband; Raymond Smith, son; Eric Smith (Erica), stepchildren; Britteny Kolbe and Chris Myers (Rachael), grandchildren; Lathyn, Bentley, Londyn, Hartley, Chase, Luke, Cayden, Brayson, Ezra, Everly, and Gabe, and siblings; Teddia Wing (Richard), and Charlie Alley.
Jetta was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Alley and Diane Alley Warren.
