Gerline Miers Travasos

Gerline Miers Travasos passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 87.  She was born on Wednesday, June 3, 1936 in Delhi, Louisiana to the late Binford Miers and the late Eva Kennedy Miers.  She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Gerline is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Thomas and her husband, James, Sr.; sons, Gordon Travasos and Eric Travasos and his wife, Wanda; grandchildren, Lori Cavalier, Stephanie Rodgers, Ashley Mathie, Troy Travasos, James Thomas, Jr., Cory Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Meaghan Ridder, Eric Travasos, Jr., and Brittany Travasos; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Gerline was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Travasos, daughter, Eva Travasos, and siblings, Athelia Miers, Lloyd Miers, and Erline Peneguy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, beginning at 12:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 2:00 PM.

Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery, Springfield, Louisiana.
