Gerald Joseph Maronge Jr., of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the age of 69. He was born on September 21, 1956, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of the late Gerald J. Maronge, Sr. and Ida Theresa Boudreaux Maronge.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 45 years wife, Nora Kimball Maronge; daughters, Nicole Vaccaro (David), Stephanie Rubio (Sergio), and Kimberly Killian (Jacob); grandchildren, Brooklynn Vaccaro, Madison Vaccaro, Gerald "Jerry" Maronge, Noah Rubio, Isabella Rubio, and Jay Killian; sister, Alexis Rupp; and numerous beloved extended family and friends that were like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and many loved family members.
Above all, he loved his family. He was the proud father of three daughters and grandfather of six and shared 45 years of marriage with the love of his life, Nora. Whether on vacation, celebrating holidays, or simply spending time together, being surrounded by those he loved meant the most to him.
At 69 years old, he leaves behind a life centered around family, hard work, and good times. Raised in New Orleans, he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, LSU football, boiling crawfish, and his BBQ burnt just the way he liked it. Some of his favorite memories were made during the annual family beach vacations, and he loved counting down the days until Christmas and having everyone together.
He spent more than 36 years with SGS Petroleum Services before retiring and later found joy hosting at Agave Blue, where he loved working alongside his daughter Stephanie.
A member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and past member of the Knights of Columbus, he was strong-willed, outspoken, and a little rough around the edges. He was unapologetically himself, and people loved him for it.
Family and friends will be received at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass begins at 11:00 am.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula. An on-line guest book is available at www.harrymckneely.com.
