George "T.C" Wells

George "T.C" Wells  passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, July 21, 2023, in Independence, Louisiana, at the age of 67.  He was born on Thursday, December 29, 1955 in Belle Chasse, Louisiana to the late Valerie and James Wells. He was a resident of Independence, Louisiana.

George lived a varied life. He was a pastor, missionary, contractor, and law enforcement officer. He loved being in the ministry and especially loved his mission trips to Mexico. In a ten-year period, he made 110 mission trips, with very fruitful results. George pastored in Tickfaw, Dry Prong, and along with his wife, Jean, pioneered a church in Independence, Louisiana. 
His law enforcement career began in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he attended his first academy training. He then went on to serve in Catahoula and Avoyelles parishes and, in 2008, he served on the Independence Police Department. George was always well respected by his fellow officers and was given the nickname, “T.C.”. 
He was a country boy at heart and loved fishing, crabbing, and boating. His passion for music started at the age of five when he would play the guitar and sing in church. He was masterful on the guitar, bass, and keyboard. George found great joy in producing CD's for himself and others. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Kojis Wells; children, Shirley and Charlie Monistere, George Jr., Elizabeth and John Mire, Harvey, Nicole and Brandon Anglin, Melissa and Pete Perkins, Kevin Carrington, and Robert Carrington; numerous grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Jack Wells and wife, Doris, Rev. Robert Wells and wife, Estelle, Rev. Ted Wells and wife, Debby; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Wells and Valerie Vidal Wells; sister, Shirley Fedoronko Wells; and his two brothers, Jimmy and Alvin Wells. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, until services begin at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
