George D. Landry, Jr.

George D. Landry Jr., 83 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was born on Friday, September 1, 1933 to George D. Landry, Sr. and Freda Germany Landry. George graduated from Catholic High in 1951 and from the US Military Academy at West Point Class of Black 1957. He enjoyed life and loved fishing, crossword puzzles and a good scotch while smoking a cigar and listening to classical music but he especially loved spending time with his family. 

George is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Bonanno Pistorius - Landry, his daughters, Suzanne Hoglund and her husband Keith and Michele Sobek and her husband Robert, his sons, George D. Landry III and his wife Mary and Geoff K Landry, Sr. and his wife Barb, 6 Grandchildren, his brother, Greg Landry and his wife Charlotte and his sister, Judy Faia and her husband Mike, also many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, George D. Landry, Sr. and Freda Germany Landry and his brother, Michael Landry. 

A Visitation for George will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Memorial Service Celebrating George's Life will immediately follow visitation at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
