Genevieve Gregoire Messina

Genevieve Gregoire Messina went to her eternal rest in Jesus on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 85.  She was born on Sunday, December 8, 1935 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Agnes Pourciau and the late Raymond Gregoire.  She was a resident of Independence, Louisiana.

Genevieve is survived by her son, Mario Messina, and his wife, Flora; son-in-law, Phil Graziano; grandchildren, Angela Graziano Cali, and her husband, Sam, Raymond P. Graziano, and his wife, Lisa, Justin Messina, and Jeremy Messina; great-granddaughters, Victoria Rooney Wilson, and her husband, Eli, and Genevieve Graziano; and great-great-granddaughter, Meghan Elizabeth Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Gregoire; mother, Agnes Pourciau; husband, Mario Messina, Sr.; daughter, Barbara Messina Graziano; and sister, Theresa G. Ladner.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, beginning at 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will be held following the visitation at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 609 3rd St., Independence, Louisiana 70443, at 11:00 AM.  

Interment will follow in Colonial Cemetery, Independence, Louisiana.
