Gaynell Ockman peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, February 19, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.  She loved sharing laughs over a big pile of crabs and spending time with her family making memories they will treasure forever.  Gaynell could often be found watching TikTok videos, playing online mahjong and trying her chances at the casinos.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her and will be missed dearly.

Gaynell leaves behind her children, Debbie Cambre and husband Charles, George Herron Jr, Christopher Ockman, Amanda Ockman and fiance Jeremy Messina; grandchildren, Cody Herron, Angelle Herron, Bria Durio and husband Cody, David Cambre and wife Lindsey, Emily Cambre, and Faith Cambre; beautiful great-grandchildren, Levi, Eli, Lilly, Charlotte and Steven; brother, Walter "Bubba" Eckerle Jr; as well as her furbaby, Lola.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Owen J. Ockman Sr.; parents, Walter "Pee Wee" Eckerle Sr and Norma R. Eckerle; as well as her angel grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. with visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m.  Bro. Todd Vickery will be officiating the service.
