Galen Russell Johnson

Galen Russell Johnson passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 65.  He was born on Thursday, July 14, 1955 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Lerline Holden and the late Henry Johnson.  He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Galen is survived by his son, Robert Johnson (Nelly); daughter, Nicole Johnson; step-daughter, Meghan Helm; grandchildren, Macye Johnson, Braydon Johnson, Kamryn Johnson, Sophia Johnson, Nyla Johnson, Nevaeh Johnson, Madison Levatino, and Caden Populis; siblings, Roger Johnson (Rose), Shearon Kolszar, and Wesley Johnson; niece, Kayla Rose Johnson; and numerous other cherished nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Galen was also preceded in death by his brother, Thearon Johnson and brother-in-law, Jimmy Kolszar.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, beginning at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue the following day, Thursday, April 1, 2021, at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Briar Patch Cemetery, Loranger, Louisiana.
