Frederick "Fred" Joseph Piazza Sr.

Frederick "Fred" Joseph Piazza Sr., of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020, at the age of 86. He was born on Thursday, September 7, 1933, in Tickfaw, Louisiana, to Joseph and Corene Piazza.

Fred served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He was also a retired Sergeant with the Louisiana State Police. Fred enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, wood working, leather working, mechanics and shooting sports, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of almost 62 years, Mary Frances Stassi Piazza; his sons Joseph "Joey" Piazza and his wife Debbie, Frederick “Fred” Piazza II and his wife Dorothy; his daughter, Connie Piazza DePaula; his grandchildren, Salvador "Sonny" DePaula II and his wife Sarah, Joseph DePaula, Joseph "Joey" Piazza II and his wife Samantha, Joede Piazza, John Piazza, and Maria "Mia" Piazza; his great grandchildren, Arabella DePaula, Salvador "Sonny" DePaula III, Alaina Piazza and Jaxon Piazza; also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Corene Piazza and his sisters, Lena Piazza, Emma DeMarco and Josephine DeMarco.

At the family's request Fred's services will be private.
