Frank Joseph Rumfola passed in peace on October 1, 2018 at the age of 88, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on Wednesday, April 23, 1930 in Pennsylvania to Rosalia Sedita and Jack Rumfola. Frank, better known to all as "Flappy" served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He was truly loved by everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Frank leaves behind his children, Sharon Leto and Michael Rumfola; grandchildren Britney Rumfola, Hailey Rumfola; great grandchild known as "Preston"; and lots of nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his favorite cat, Flossy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Victoria Rumfola; parents, Jack Rumfola and Rosalia Sedita; brothers and sisters, Sam, Frances, Lena, Nancy, Theresa, Catherine, and Jack.
Frank would do whatever anyone asked of him, he was a very devoted Father and Grandfather. He leaves behind this message for his family and loved ones: Mark 5:39 - Do not weep for me, for I am merely just asleep, waiting for all of my family to be with me and Sarah.
Our family would like to say "thank you" to all the doctors, nurses, and care-givers. We deeply appreciate you all, especially The Crossing Clarity House in Baton Rouge.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Visitation will continue on Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 609 3rd St, Independence, Louisiana 70443.
Interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence, Louisiana.
