Francis Elaine "Lanie" Manchester King

Lanie passed peacefully into the gates of heaven on July 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 31, 1932, to her parents, Levi and Bartlett Manchester. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Francis Klibert (Harold), the late Debra King, and the late Lynn King, Jr. Her grandchildren are Amber Husser (Ellis), Dena Borcherding (Kory), Rachelle Morvant (Kyle), Monique Morvant, Lynn King III, and Andria Dail (William). Her great-grandchildren, Brandon (Kylie), Matthew (Chelsea), Nicholas (Paige), Mark, Grace, Austin, Brady, Ella, and Mallory. Her great-great-grandchildren are Riley, Everett, and Evelyn. She is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Moorman and Laverne Mosely, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, James, Clinton, Huey, and John Manchester.

Elaine enjoyed gardening, which included her prized lemon tree, cooking, and painting. Some of her favorite pastimes included bringing her grandchildren to Café Du Monde, going to Mel Ott Park, and making memories on the Gulf Coast beaches. She was employed in the food and hospitality industry, and her beautiful smile and spunky personality won over some of the most famous people in the world whom she served.

The family would like to give special thanks to Egan Hospice for their caring and compassionate attention to Lanie and her family.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. Hammond, LA, 70401 on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 11:00 am until the memorial service starting at 12:30 pm.
