Frances Catherine Lamonte Tortorice

Frances Catherine Lamonte Tortorice was born December 14, 1926, in Tickfaw, LA, to the late Tony and Josephine Inzinga Lamonte. She passed away May 5, 2023, in Hammond, LA at the age of 96.  She was a lifelong resident of Tickfaw.  Frances was a parishioner of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, and is survived by her daughter, Pamela Strate (Carl); granddaughter, Amanda Hyman (Kyle); grandson, Carl “Bo” Strate, Jr. (Bryana); great grandson, William Hyman; and brothers, Salvatore and Anthony Lamonte.  In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Joseph Tortorice; and siblings, Larry and Joe Lamonte, Sandra Olivia, and Mary Prine.  Relatives and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, Monday, May 8, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. conducted by Deacon Nat Garafola.  Entombment will follow in Colonial Cemetery, Independence, LA
