Frances Inez Strickland

Frances Inez Strickland died at 10:45 AM on Wednesday, July27, 2022, at Landmark Nursing Home in Hammond. She was born August 1,1937 in Kentwood and was 84 years of age. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kentwood and a former member at Spring Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her family, her friends, and children both young and old.

She is survived by three nephews and three nieces, Robert G. Grimes, Albany, C.E. “Rick” Turner and wife Patricia Tolbird Turner, Baton Rouge, Joseph Roy Turner and wife Diane Ricks Turner, Tangipahoa, Kathryn Sandra Turner Travis, and husband Jerry W. Travis, Hammond, Karen Strickland McLaughlin, and husband Marvin McLaughlin, Kentwood, Kelly Strickland Bennet, and husband Tony Bennet, Kentwood, numerous grand-nephews, and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her father, Eric Alwin Strickland; mother, Lona Loraine Varnado Strickland; brothers, Irwin Alwin Strickland, and Eric E. Strickland; sisters, Kirby Urlene Strickland, and Maxine Strickland Turner.

Visitation will be at Spring Creek Baptist Church at 11:00am until religious services at Noon, Saturday, August 6, 2022. Services will be conducted by Rev. Eric Latham. Internment will follow at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
