Florence Rita Peltier

Florence Rita Peltier, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the age of 99. She was born on April 8, 1925, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Felix Peltier and Anna Legendre Peltier. Florence was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She retired from Bill’s Dollar Store in Ponchatoula after 64 years of service.  Florence is survived by her sister, Anna Mae Mixon; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Florence is preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel Adams, Lillian Perque, Pearl Gros, Nettie Watts, Enola DeGruy and Madeline Thibodeaux; brothers, Howard Peltier, Emmett “Blue” Peltier, Ernest “Mose” Peltier, Edward “Pete” Peltier, J.C. Peltier, Valley Peltier, and Darrell Peltier and several nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Father Cayet Mangiaricina officiating.  Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
