Florence Odelia Cummings

Florence Odelia Cummings, 89 years old of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away with her family by her side on Friday, August 3, 2018 in Hammond. She was born on Wednesday, June 12, 1929, in Killian, Louisiana to Mart, Sr. and Odelia Picou McKinney. Florence enjoyed life and loved making jelly, gardening and cleaning, but she especially loved spending time with her family. 

Florence is survived by her sons, Larry Cummings and his wife Linda and Gary Cummings and his wife Willie, her grandchildren, Melissa Cummings, Britt Cummings and his wife Deanna, Michelle Newman, Renee Hoover and her husband James, Slate Cummings and his wife Patty, Ronny Cummings, Jr., Gary Cummings II, Lisa St. Martin, Brandy Miller and her husband Bobby and Kayla Cummings, 22 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren her sister, Mrytle Marine, also many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mart, Sr. and Odelia Picou McKinney, her husband, Vester Cummings, her son Ronny Cummings, Sr., her grandson Jonathan Cummings, her infant twin granddaughters and her brother, Mart "Bud" McKinney, Jr. 

A Visitation for Florence will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center. A Funeral Service Celebrating Florence's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00am in the church. Interment will follow at Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery.
