Fern Bernice Hughes

Fern Bernice Hughes, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones in her "home" at Belle Maison Nursing Home in Hammond, Louisiana, on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Fern fought a tough battle and put up a hard fight. She was 80 years old.

Surviving are her daughters, Sherry and Danny Farris, Dawn and Lennie Wales, Tamara and Gary Bourgeois, Lorrie Scott, Tonya Trammell; son, Chad Hughes and Rachael Arrindell; grandchildren, Joshua Wales, Renee' Morgan, Elizabeth Newman, Doniel Granier, Olen and Jake Hughes, Susan and Danielle Arrindell, Amber Thomas, Joshua Trammell, and numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Glenda Minnier; numerous nieces and nephews; and all her church friends who were her "family".

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Bernice Stukes Cain; husband, Grady "Bo" Hughes; brother, Wade Cain; sister, Elaine Mannino.

Mrs. Hughes will be greatly missed, but as she always said, "Keep Smiling".

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday beginning at 6:30 pm in the funeral home chapel.
