Eva Marie Delatte Parent

Eva Marie Delatte Parent, of Carriere, Mississippi, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the age of 63. She was born on November 26, 1958, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Ellis and Agnes Delatte. Eva was raised and went to school in Harahan, Louisiana. She was happily married to Jimmy Parent until his death in 2010. Eva moved to Carriere, Mississippi to be near her family. She loved to fish, cook, and do her own yard work. Eva was gifted with words and wrote many short stories of which two were published. She loved music and trivia, and she never missed an episode of Jeopardy.

Eva is survived by her sister & brother-in-law, Christina and Gary Silva, Sr.; brother & sister-in-law, David and  Roxanne Delatte; daughter, Karen Parent; grandson, Tyler Fontenot; 15 nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Bordelon and brother, Bobby Kiern.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will begin on Saturday at 1:00 pm, with Randy Ray officiating.

Interment will follow at Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery in Pumpkin Center, Louisiana.
