Ephrem Grady Lucas Jr.

Ephrem "Grady" Lucas Jr., of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born on Saturday, September 7, 1946, in Martinsville, Mississippi.

Grady is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Morgan Lucas; daughter, Tanya Hydol, son & daughter-in-law, Clifton and Chrissie Lucas; grandchildren, Fallon (Josh), Dustin (Alayna), and Rodney "R.J." (Mandy), Patch Sr. (Bailee), sisters and brothers, Nell Roberts, Linda Cambell, Rebecca "Becky" Powell (Billy), Dennis Kitchens (Cecelia) and Billy Ray Lucas Sr.; great-grandchildren, Easton, Liam, Luke, Cade, Malinda, Patch Jr., and Isabella.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ephrem Grady Lucas Sr. and Ruby Bigner Lucas, and siblings, William Kitchens, Ruby Ferrara, Henrietta Kelly, Margie Morgan, Jessie Lucas, Sr., Alice Egan, and Helen Dugas.

Grady was a loving husband and father who would bend over backward for his family. His grandchildren and great-grandbabies held the most special place in his heart. He was anxiously waiting for the newest great-granddaughter to arrive, he kept asking her name, Aria Grace. He enjoyed hunting and even taught his grandson all knew. He loved fishing and bowling. Grady served his country proudly as a Sargent in the Army. He was a jokester who loved a good prank for April Fool's Day. He loved the holidays and even lotted himself in with the greats. He called it the "Big Four"  His birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. He never met a stranger. Every person in the world, to him, was just a friend he hadn't met yet. He always saw the good in people. Sometimes, that's all he would see, even if no one else could see it. 

Family and friends will be received at Morgan Family Cemetery and homeplace, 20260 Morgan Road, Hammond, Louisiana 70403 on Monday, May 29, 2023, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Morgan Family Cemetery, on Monday at 1:00 pm.
