Elouise "Wease" Smith Seay

Elouise "Wease" Smith Seay , 94 years old of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Heritage Healthcare in Hammond. She was born on Tuesday, April 25, 1922, in Pearl River, Louisiana to Elmond and Ella Craddock Smith. Wease was a member of the Woodland Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed life and loved to crochet, paint and floral gardening but she especially loved to spend time with her family. 

Wease's family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Healthcare and to Diane Shilling, Peggy Martin and Virginia Carter who visited Wease weekly, also her friend and care giver Sallie Maurel. A special thanks to Wease's adopted niece Karen Brown for her frequent visits. 

Wease is survived by her nieces, Sue Smith Navarre and Virlie McKean Maglaria and also, many great nieces and nephews. 

Wease is preceded in death by her parents, Elmond and Ella Craddock Smith, her brothers, Germans and Vincent Smith, her sisters, Ruby McKean, Myrtle Nami and Myrtis Fields, her nephews, Phil Mckean, Lewis Smith and EW "Sonny" Smith and great nephew, Norman Smith. 

A Visitation for Wease will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Wease's Life will immediately follow visitation at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond. 

In lieu of flowers the family would like all memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Woodland Park Baptist Church, 1909 J W Davis Dr, Hammond, LA 70403 in Wease's memory.
