Ellery "E.J." Joseph Raiford

Ellery "E.J." Joseph Raiford  passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 78.  He was born on Thursday, July 8, 1943 to the late Frances Verneuil Raiford and the late Alonzo Raiford, Sr.  He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

E.J. is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn "Sissy" Raiford; children, Darrell Raiford (Debbie), Jennifer Morgan (Arthur), Fran Benson (Joe), and Kimberly Taylor (Clint); grandchildren, Jessica Raiford, Kristen Raiford, Kelsey Morgan, Kaylee Morgan, Kenzie Morgan, Pace Benson, Mack Benson, Dane Benson, Bray Benson, Van Benson, Colt Taylor, and Travis Taylor; and siblings, Alonzo "Lawrence" Raiford, Jr., David Raiford, Dwight Raiford, Patricia Alexander, Paulette Reeder, and Eva Rose Simmons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alonzo Raiford, Sr.; mother, Frances Verneuil Raiford; brother, Michael Raiford; and granddaughter, Annmarie Benson.
