Elizabeth "Nannie" Hastings Andrews

Florrie Elizabeth "Nannie" Hastings Andrews, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at the age of 99. She was born on June 2, 1921, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Albert Hugh Hastings and Florrie Coward Hastings. Most of her adult life was spent in Houston where her husband, Louis worked for Texaco. She has been a resident of Hammond since 2010. Nannie and Parrain's lives have quietly touched countless lives in our community and will continue for generations to come.

Nannie is survived by her godson, Gary W. Sandifer (Jo Ann); godchildren, Christine Sandifer Reid (Joseph) and Gary W. Sandifer Jr. (Melanie); great godchildren, Spencer J. Reid, Samuel M. Reid, William H. Reid, Charles Henry Reid, Brie L. Sandifer, Allie R. Sandifer, and Grant W. Sandifer; nephew, Bert Baldridge; and niece, Martha Betty Edgar.

In addition to her parents, Nannie was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis Charles Andrews and sister.

Special appreciation to Ernie and Sylvia Bush for their years of caring and their beautiful seasonal decorations that brightened her home in her later years. Appreciation to Alicia Wilkinson and Wilkinson Care Giving who provided her with excellent and compassionate home care with special thanks to Peggy Vaughn, Margie Wilkinson, Delores Bridgewater, and Myra Young for the loving personal care they provided. Special appreciation also to  Mrs. Phyllis Vutera for her love and patience each week making time to care for Nannie in her shop.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 3:30 pm until 5:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, on Monday at 5:00 pm.

Nannie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

Face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home. Thank you for your cooperation.
