Elizabeth M. (Betty Lou) Stewart

On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, Elizabeth M. Stewart (Betty Lou), age 89, left this world and went to her heavenly home where she was reunited with Jesus, her Heavenly Father, and her deceased loved ones, including late parents Ivy McCarroll, Sr., and Janie Garvey, her brother Ivy McCarroll, Jr., her husband, Lawrence Stewart, daughters, Carol Fedele and Patricia Kinchen, granddaughters, Jodi Kinchen Spiers and Lisa Fedele Grisham.

Betty was born on July 30, 1930. She was a native of Springfield but lived most of her adult life as a resident of Ponchatoula.  She was adored by her family, friends, and community.  She was a long term volunteer and caregiver for people with disabilities. Since 1959, she was a faithful lifetime member of the Millville Baptist Church.  She loved her church family and missed all of them during her declining health in the past few years. She will be missed as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and pets. She loved cooking, gardening and being outdoors, telling stories and reading the bible. She was a big-hearted, strong and loving woman, who always put her family first. Betty was a true blessing to those who knew her.  She will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving sons, Allen Kinchen (Margaret) and Stanley Kinchen (Marian), Son-in-law, Jimmy Fedele (Retha), Grandchildren, Lana Trejo (Ruben), Jamie Kinchen (Nikki), Pastor David Fedele (Sarah), Robin Kinchen Cenac (Marc), Wendy Kinchen Savarino (Tony), Great Grandchildren, Brendon Wells, Kaleb Spiers, Jacob Spiers, Mercedes Trejo Smith, (Jackson), Braelunn Trejo, Braxxton Trejo, Berkeley Kinchen, Landon Kinchen, Cameron Cushenberry, Phinehas Fedele, Evangeline Fedele, Benjamin Fedele, Sicily Fedele, and Silas Fedele, and Bette Savarino.  She is also survived by her Sister-in-law, Lula Mae Pierson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Sadly, due to COVID-19 precautions, we are not able to celebrate her life with all of her family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to post on Harry McKneely & Sons’ website your favorite memory of MawMaw Betty.  She will be buried in a private family service at Courtney Cemetery in Holden, La, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter.  Both Pastor David Fedele and Reverend Josh Day will co-officiate the service.
