Elizabeth Price Lafargue

Elizabeth Price Lafargue, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at her residence on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the age of 57. She was born on Wednesday, March 23, 1966, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Henry L. Price and the late Barbara Jones Price.

Beth was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Hammond. She was the founder of Center of Hope of Tangipahoa, Inc., a nonprofit organization providing relief for the working poor. She was active in the United Methodist Committee on Relief and was a Tri-Parish Representative for Long Term Recovery. She was the financial manager for Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and the First United Methodist Church in Ponchatoula. Beth loved her family and enjoyed hosting all the family events. She always focused on others and serving the community in any way she could. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Elizabeth is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret P. and Joey Fekete, brother & sister-in-law, Donald and Belinda Price, brother, Henry L. Price, 6 nieces, Tiffany Cressionnie, Jessica Dees, Chandler Price, Amanda Fekete,  Courtney Baggott, and Sarah Fekete; 2 nephews, Donald Cameron Price, and Nathan Fekete, 14 great-nieces and great-nephews, step-daughter, Lauren Makar, step-son, Robert Lafargue, 3 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurent E. Lafargue.

Family and friends will be received at the First United Methodist Church of Hammond, 2200 Rue Denise, Hammond, Louisiana 70403 on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 8:00 am until 10:00 am. 

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Hammond, on Saturday at 10:00 am, with Rev. Marissa Horvath officiating.
