Eleanor V. Petho

Eleanor V. Petho was born December 3, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan to the late John and Elizabeth Horvath. She passed away February 11, 2025 at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond. Eleanor was a resident of Independence and a forty year parishioner of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence. She is survived by her children, Andy Petho, Russell Petho, Rudolph Petho (Brenda), Denise Toole, and Eric Petho; six grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Eleanor is preceded in death by her son, Allen Petho; sister, Margaret Tisot; and brother, John Horvath. Visiting will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Friday, February 14, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial follows at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 620 3rd Street, Independence at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Colonial Cemetery, Independence.
