Elaine Allen Guagliardo

Elaine Allen Guagliardo died on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Heritage Healthcare Center in Hammond, Louisiana, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on Saturday, July 27, 1946, and was 70 at the time of her death.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John L.Guagliardo in 2014 and their only daughter, Elizabeth Pierson Clement Bagai in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Doris Allen and her grandparents, Jesse and Inez Allen and Berlin and Estelle Hoover.

Elaine is survived by her granddaughter, Julia Clement of Palo Alto, California. Additionally, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Jennifer Allen of Hammond, as well as their children; her nephew, Brandon W. Allen and his wife, Jacqueline, and her niece, Courtney A. Ridgedell and her husband, Fletcher. She is also survived by four great nephews and one great niece. Finally, Elaine is also survived by two special aunts, Pansy Allen and Sue Hoover in addition to numerous other cousins.

Elaine graduated from Hammond High School in 1964, prior to graduating from Spencer Business College in Baton Rouge, LA. During her career, Elaine used her administrative skills while employed in many secretarial and administrative positions as she and John resided in a number of different locations throughout the country.

Elaine was also very artistic and creative which eventually led her to return to school and become an accomplished interior designer, which she practiced for several years before returning to her original career. She retired as an executive assistant at Stanford University. Elaine and John retired to Hammond, LA in 2011.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and will continue until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am.

A private interment will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
