Effie Dee Thomas Mazzeno

Effie Dee Thomas Mazzeno, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the age of 88. She was born on October 14, 1929 in Deming, New Mexico.

Effie is survived by her children, Claudia Hoffman and her husband Freddie, Aline Newman, and Byron Mazzeno and his wife Carolynn; grandchildren, Christina Verberne and her husband Steven, Bryan Newman and his wife Rachael, Aaron Hoffman, Collin Mazzeno, and Melissa Mazzeno; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Joseph Mazzeno; and parents, L.C. "Pop" and Cecille Jones Bourne.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 2, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 2200 Rue Denise Hammond, Louisiana 70403, from 10:00 am until the Memorial Service begins at 11:00 am.

Effie will be placed with her husband at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
