Edwin Carl Wehmeier, Jr. was born to the late Edwin Carl Wehmeier, Sr. and Marguerite Wilson Wehmeier on December 5, 1943, in Pensacola, FL. He passed away on June 25, 2024, at his residence in Hammond at 5:00 a.m. surrounded by his family. Edwin is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Gennardo Wehmeier; devoted son, Edwin Carl “Trey” Wehmeier, III; brother, Robert Wehmeier; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Holland; two sisters, Joyce Boatwright and Marguerite Wehmeier. He was a retired supervisor for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. Edwin was a lifelong Florida Gators fan who loved to fish with friends and family. When he and his brothers, his nephew, and his friends went fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, they would catch hundreds of redfish, before a limit was imposed. Edwin was a shy man who always worried about others over himself. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Memorial Mausoleum, 908 Western Avenue, Hammond.
