Edward Charles Dugar

Edward Charles Dugar, 60, passed away peacefully on January 16th, 2024, attended by family.

Edward was born in Independence, Louisiana on Friday, May 31st, 1963, to James Gerard Dugar and Juanita Klein Dugar. His family built and moved into a home near Kentwood, Louisiana in 1974, where he graduated as the last class of Chesbrough High School in 1981. He then graduated from Southwest Community College in 1991 as a Registered Nurse. He met his wife, Kimberly, in 1990 and they married on March 7th, 1992. Together they raised four children in Amite City, Louisiana. 

In Amite, Edward’s work tenure included 28 years at Hood Memorial Hospital before he and his wife moved to Ponchatoula, Louisiana in 2020 and he began working for the Louisiana Department of Health. He spent many joyful years traveling the world, cooking, tailgating at LSU, and watching his grandchildren grow up. 

Edward is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kimberly Ann Dugar, his children, Hilton Lloyd Dunaway III (Jenny), Nicole Dunaway Brown, Blake Edward Dugar (Emily), and Eric Klein Dugar (Hilary), his grandchildren, Haley, Paxtyn, Lillian, Harper, Hil, Susannah, Layla, Olive, and Lauren, his parents, James and Juanita Dugar, his siblings, Jimmy Dugar (Michelle), Dennis Dugar, Wanda Dugar Brumfield (Don), and Darrell Dugar, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Edward is preceded in death by his sister Linda Maria Dugar.

He also leaves behind many heartfelt friendships and memories.

Services will be held this Saturday, January 20th, 2024, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home -2000 N Morrison Blvd Hammond, La 70401, from 1:00 pm, until the Memorial Service starts at 3:00 pm.
