Edward "Ted" Albert Amar III

Edward Albert Amar III, “Ted”, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the age of 61. He was born on October 10, 1964, in Heidelberg, Germany.

Ted was an entrepreneur who owned and operated Amar Tire Mart before later opening Tickfaw Pit Stop. He loved hunting, fishing, and drag racing, and could often be found working on one of his many cars, with his black Corvette always being his favorite. He was also proud of the home he built in Tickfaw. Those closest to Ted knew that while he lived life full throttle, he had a big heart and loved his family and friends.

Ted is survived by his wife, Teresa Amar; mother, Janice Ann Rolling Amar; son, Edward A. “Teddy” Amar III (Stephanie); daughter, Jessica Hung (Zachary); Justin Ridgel, whom Ted helped raise; and Teresa’s children, Devan, Thomas, Kayla, and Hanna Privatte, and their children, Tanner, Ayden, Avery, Vayla, Thomas-Coy, Josiah, and Xiorra.

He was preceded in death by his father Edward Albert Amar Jr.; brother, Travis Rolling Amar; grandparents, Edward A. Amar Sr. and Edie May Neuwirth Amar,; grandparents, Edward Joseph Rolling Jr. and Lena Maude Martens Rolling.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 5:00pm until the Celebration of Life Service at 6:00pm.
