Edmond Omar "Ed" Richardson

Edmond Omar "Ed" Richardson, of Holden, Louisiana, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at the age of 75. He was born on January 25, 1946, in Springfield, Louisiana, the son of the late Phillip Richardson and Dora "Birdie" Hodges Richardson. Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an Air Force veteran as well as an avid fisherman, taking every opportunity he had to go fishing. Ed was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Springfield and lived his life devoted to the Lord.  

Ed is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Dugas Richardson; daughters, Kellie Folks (Michael), Laura Penn (Wes), and Rachel Collings (Trevor); grandchildren, Evan, Claire, Tristan and Sky Folks, Violet and Ava Penn, and Gwendolen and Elenor Collings; brothers, Isaac "Ike," John Paul and Phillip Kemp Richardson; sisters, Jennie Pearson, Eva Gayle Lott, Virginia Ann "V" Bourn, Luella "Lu" Resetar, and Jessie Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his grandson, Quinn Collings; brothers, Ralph Murphy, Carl Bray, Phillip Maxwell, and Ronald Russell Richardson; and sister, Gladys Irene Richardson.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with  Bro. Byron Comish officiating.

Interment will follow at Richardson Family Cemetery in Holden, Louisiana.
