Edith "Ebie" Thibodaux Rodrigue

Edith “Ebie” Thibodaux Rodrigue, of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by love. She was born on Tuesday, February 23, 1937, in Donaldsonville, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Arthur "Sonny" Clarence Rodrigue, Jr.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Tot and Margaret Thibodaux; siblings, Betty Bello (Warren), Sally Harp (Bruce), Margie Barbier (Dickie), and Tibby Thibodaux; son-in-law, Russell Bujol; and godchild, Evette Barbier.

She is survived by her children, Arthur C. Rodrigue, III (Darcie), Brian Rodrigue (Emma), Brenda Bujol, Gary Rodrigue (Krystal), and Debra Hymel (Billy).

She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Paul Bujol (Micah), Craig Rodrigue (Heather), Kristina Cady (Brian), Sara Thomas (Brendon), Jesse Rodrigue (Stacy), Parker Rodrigue (Alexis), Grant Rodrigue (Laiken), and Hudson Rodrigue (Jacey).

Her great-grandchildren include Hunter Bujol, Victoria Rodrigue, Craig Rodrigue, Jr., Mary Bujol, Avyn, Ebie, Axel, Rexon, and Teddy.

She is also survived by her bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Amanda, Alan, Avery, Audriana, Ava, William, Lea Anne, Taylor, Emily, and Kaelyn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her brother, David Thibodaux (Mary); sister-in-law, Connie Thibodaux; and brother-in-law, Ronald Rodrigue.

Edith loved Jesus deeply and cherished her Catholic faith. She was honored to serve as the secretary at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Edith was a woman of unwavering faith who kept her family and friends in her daily prayers and gave thanks for them each day.

She loved her family and friends so very much. She carried each of us in her heart, lifted us up in prayer, and gave thanks for us every day. Her love was a gift that will remain with us always, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Edith enjoyed cooking, gardening, tending to her flowers, and watching hummingbirds.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bridgeway Hospice and its staff for the compassionate care they provided to Edith and her family.
