Eddie Allen Basso

Eddie Allen Basso, of Independence, Louisiana, passed away at Richard Murphy Hospice House on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born on May 4, 1949, in Independence, Louisiana, the son of the late Allen Joseph Basso and Elzene Robertson Basso.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandy Basso; daughter, Stacie Guillory (Eddie); son, Chad Basso; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Blake, Sydney, and Lauren Capdeboscq; brothers, Tim Basso and Chuck Basso (Jennifer); numerous nieces and nephews, and his grand-dog, Trump.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Augustine and Melanie Basso, and maternal grandparents, Ray and Goldie Bennett Robertson.

The family would like to thank St Tammany Hospice for their outstanding care and also Richard Murphy Hospice for their excellent care and kindness.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 8:30 am until 10:30 am.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 620 3rd St., Independence, Louisiana 70443 on Tuesday at 11:00 am.

Entombment will follow at Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum in Independence, Louisiana.
