Earl Raymond Mccallon Jr.

Earl Raymond McCallon, Jr., of New Orleans, passed away at Lambeth House on Friday, April 30, 2021, at the age of 99.  He was born on Sunday, January 29, 1922, in West Plains, Missouri.

Earl is survived by his son, Earl Raymond McCallon, III and his wife, Jan McCallon; daughter, Sharon McCallon Cage and her husband, Roy Rankin Cage; grandson, Brett Davis McCallon and his wife, Jennifer Joey McCallon, grandson, Brian Michael McCallon, granddaughter, Dr. Erin Claire Cage, granddaughter Courtney Lauren Cage Monk and her husband, Levi Marshall Monk; great-grandchildren, Mae Marie McCallon and Emma Louise Monk; step great-grandchildren, Lily Smith, Milo Smith and Elodie Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Richards McCallon; parents, Earl Raymond McCallon, Sr. and Sadie Taggart McCallon; brother, James Newton McCallon and sister, LuBon Larson.

As an officer in the United States Navy, Earl served in both World War II and the Korean conflict.

Earl was a longtime member of the New Orleans Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists.

The family would like to express its gratitude for his loving friend and companion, Anne Pointer Kennedy, Dr J. St. John and the staff of St. Anna’s at Lambeth House.

Family and friends will be received at First Presbyterian Church of Hammond, 411 W. Charles St., Hammond, Louisiana, on Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 10:00am until 11:00am.  The funeral service, officiated by Barry Chance, minister of First Presbyterian, will begin at 11:00am with interment following at Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum.  A reception will follow at the church fellowship hall.
