Dr. Roger Orin Fox, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born on December 28, 1932, in Hickory, North Carolina. The son of the late William Abraham Fox and Emma Rogers Fox both of Hickory, North Carolina. He spent his childhood in Tampa, Florida and at the age of eighteen he joined the US Navy during the Korean War. He served upon Destroyer USS Coates DE685 with an Aircraft Carrier Fleet. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Louisiana State University and then answered a call into ministry and enrolled at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he completed both his Master's and Doctorate Degrees. He then served communities on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the field of Psychology, as well as, a Professor of Psychology. While living in Gulfport, Mississippi, he and his wife of 47 years, were active members of Gulfport Yacht Club and the Carnival Krewe of Les Cavalier and reigned as King Cavalier.
Roger is survived by his children, R. Gary Fox (Alice), Lori Blalack, and Robert Corley Jr. (Aleisha); his grandchildren who called him "Daddy Rog", Donovan Smith (Megan), Ashley Ellis (Parker), Katelyn Fox, Nathan Fox, Sara Stokley (Steven), Kala Wright (Russ), Hana McCormick (Britton), Madelyn Corley, and Kendall Corley; his great grandchildren who called him "RaRa", Amelia and Easton Ellis, Jennifer Tobi Smith, Parker, Preston, Paxton, and Pierson Stokley, Brylee and Rylan Wright; and son-in-law, Ted Smith.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Elisabeth Giffen Fox, and daughter, Tobi Fox Smith.
Services will be held at a later date.
