Dr. Joseph Frank Garofalo

Dr. Joseph Frank Garofalo was born February 17, 1945, and passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at the age of 77. Joseph had a Ph.D. in Horticulture from LSU. He conducted research and taught at various colleges across the United States. Our beloved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle will be deeply missed and loved forever. He was one of the kindest, loving and loyal people ever.

Joseph is survived by his brother, Deacon Nat Garofalo and wife Jeanette, his niece and primary caregiver, Maria Lloyd Brewer, and his other numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mariano and Lena Giamalva Garofalo, his sister, Sara Garofalo Lloyd, and his brother, Mariano P. (Sonny) Garofalo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM. Mass will follow the visitation at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 Hwy 442, Tickfaw, Louisiana 70466 at 11:00 AM.

Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Cemetery, Tickfaw, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Southeastern Louisiana University Horticulture Department.
