Dotty Jane Heck

Dotty Jane Nelms Heck, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother of Ponchatoula, LA and formerly of New Orleans, passed away at the age of 82 on December 18, 2018, at Richard Murphy Hospice House. She was born in Cardwell, MO, on December 27, 1935. Her family moved to New Orleans in 1946, where she met Jack and later married him. In 1971, the family moved to Ponchatoula. Dotty was an income tax preparer and consultant for 25 years in Ponchatoula and New Orleans.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack Heck, two daughters, Alice James and husband Dennis and Catherine Roberts and husband Dale; four granddaughters, Nicole Dillon and fiance Matt Lamp, Christie Barado and husband Jeremy, Leslie Wood and husband Jeff, and Megan Eppes and husband Marshall; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Dotty was an active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hammond. She was a dedicated member of the Lutheran Womens Missionary League (LWML), where she served on the local and district board level and representing them at a national convention in Detroit, MI.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 707 W. Dakota St. Hammond, LA on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
