Dorothy D. Wiggins    

Dorothy D. Wiggins, age 60, peacefully passed away at her Ponchatoula residence on Monday, January 29, 2024.  She never met a stranger, ever since she was a kid looking for new friends, a trait that carried on into adulthood.  Dorothy was a movie buff, from thrillers to suspense, who enjoyed giving people an unsuspecting scare to friends and family.  Her laugh when she got a good scare will be remembered by her family and friends as they relive the memories of their frightful encounter.  Dorothy enjoyed anywhere there was water, whether it was on the beach, on a cruise, fishing, swimming.  Horses were another big part of Dorothy's life, she rode horses and broke and trained them for other riders.  She was most happy when she was at her kids ball games rooting them on from the sidelines.  Dorothy was a blessing to all her "kids" at Ponchatoula High School where she worked in the cafeteria, she knew everyones names and they loved her dearly.  She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend who will is already deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Jeremy Michael Wiggins (Jessica); daughter, Kristin Danielle Mounce (Kendal); sister, Debbie Cutrer (Bubba); nieces and nephews; Chris, Dustin, Katie, Robby, Heather, Kelly, Jaelyn, Tyler, and Layton ; numerous great-nieces and nephews; as well as her puppy, Stormy Wiggins.

Preceding her in death were her husband, James "Jayboy" Wiggins; parents, Coy "Olen" and Elaine Dunaway; and her nephew, Josh Wiggins.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Bro. Denny Jenkins will be officiating the services with burial to follow in Ponchatoula Cemetery.
