Dorothy L. Anthony

Dorothy L. Anthony, 72 years old of Independence, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was born on Wednesday, January 12, 1944, to Jesse Lee and Dovie Payne. Dorothy was a member of the Jesus New Community Church. Her life will be remember for relentless pray, interpretations of the gospel, commitment to family, being there for others, and a thrifty shopper. 

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 54 years and best friend of 63 years, George Anthony, Jr., her daughters, Cindy Knight and Kezia Bennett and husband Tim, her sons, Timothy and wife Wanda, Shannon and wife Regina and Larry and wife Debra, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

She is preceded in death by parents, Jesse Lee and Dovie Payne, son and daughter in law, Titus and wife Stacey, granddaughters; Cassidy and Ariel Anthony. 

A Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Dorothy's Life will immediately follow visitation at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Killian Chapel Cemetery in Montpelier.
